Large tanks have lots of options. I personally think 30 gallons is the smallest large tank. For a wide variety of fish living together stress-free, You should stock your tank with top dwelling fish, middle dwelling fish, and bottom dwelling fish. And always stock your tank with the fishes maximum adult size in mind.
possible top dwellers for a 30 gallon long
1 male, and one female dwarf or pearl gourami, don?t mix the species,
or 4-5 golden wonder killi fish and or 4-5 platies, or 3 swordtails
possible mid dwellers =
1-2 schools of small to medium schooling fish =
no less than 8, glo-fish, danios, or long finned danios
no less than 6 of one school of tetras, cardinal, blood fin, x-ray,?
7-8 cherry barbs
5-7 peacefull barbs, like rosey barbs, checkered bsrbs, oddesa barbs, no tiger barbs.
possible bottom dwellers,
5 or more corie cats
1 dwarf pleco
4 or more smaller loaches, like zebra loaches, yoyo loaches, polka-dot loaches
FYI, you will need to do a lot of research, I suggest dr fosters websight, badmans tropical fish, aquaadvisor, but petsmart and petcos websight is awefull, they suggest many things on there that make me want to call them up and complain, so please remember to always cross reference anything 3 or 4 times.
